The ship that would eventually be named Angelyne was the fourth ship of an ill-fated class of transports that were designed to be the successor to the wildly-popular Firefly. First rolling out of the shipyards 22 years ago, the Angelyne and her sisters were commissioned by a shipping line on Ariel. The new owners discovered almost immediately that the unique fuel flow regulators -- built to give the ship its high fuel efficiency -- were prone to fouling and required almost constant monitoring and frequent flushing.

The problem, combined with a smaller cargo capacity than most ships of it's type (especially the venerable Firefly), made it a white elephant the corporation couldn't afford to retain. The ships were sold at auction, most going to private interests from the border planets and the rim.

''Session One''
We spent much of session one creating characters. We used the Core Book and the Firefly Fanbook, which made creation a little tricky since we were passing around the book. Everyone came out of character creation charged and seemed pleased with their secrets. We then had a hiring hall, where the characters approached the new captain and put their best foot forward to get themselves hired. There was some nice roleplaying throughout the scene.

Then it was time to acquire some cargo; our reader found a desperate man with a need to move 100 hounds quickly. The captain negotiated a good profit and we're off to a good start. We have a cargo for Whitefall, and take off in two hours. Now it's time to drum up some passengers or other small profitable goods and hit the black for the three day run.
