Tav'var's Personality, Quick Summary

Tav'var Travar- Kubazian dreamer

Positive/Draws:
Drive:
To visit as many star systems as possible

Goals:
Introduce 'culture' to as many people as possible (especially formal insect dinners)
Sample local insects from as many worlds as possible
Catalogue the tastiest insects for export / hunting and return to Kubindi
Prove the human assumption of superiority wrong.

Hobbies, Interests & Collections:
Subscribes to 'Exploration monthly' and similar technical journals that describe new discoveries, changes in real-space and hyper-space, gizmos for long range craft, and so on.
Tav'var keeps an updated star log (a silvery trail) and holo-journal of the star systems he has visited. He has appended descriptions of the insects he has personally sampled, as well as a 'rumors' section for exactly that.
Tav'var's taking a correspondence course in accounting.

Likes:
Cool rain on my pelt, the gray after a sun sets, V'tori poppers & diced Verpine*, traditional music & cutting edge art (particularly Kubazian, but several styles of alien art are appealing).

Negative/Pushes:
Dislikes:
Red sunrises (painful to my eyes), most imperial food (except congealed oatmeal & gristle), scaled beasts, strongly spiced art (nasally offensive)

Fears:
Being caught in a solar storm/flare (particularly without my goggles)
Carnivorous animals
Drifting too far from my culture to fit in with the Clan when I return from the stars

Points of Contact:
Family:
My Den Clan is large, but it has been many cycles since I have seen most of my family. The most important members are listed below.
Travar Virtir: My seed father and taste guide. He is the bright one who pointed out the stars that have captured my thoughts. He introduced my to my first off-world bug (a Gran bug), and pointed out the dim star in the evening sky from which it had come. When I was old enough to be of use, he took me on his rusted tramp freighter and walked with me among the bright and distant stars.
Roriir Taati: My birth mother. A woman of taste, always disappointed that I longed for the stars; she had hopes to make me a respected gourmand chef. (On my eighth day of return, she presented me with smuggled Verpine, still fresh.) I can still hear her famous 'Travig Riddet' song cycle resounding in the great hall of acclaim.
Laaret Travar: Younger seed brother, bitter rival. It was to spite him that I trained long hours with the blaster- a duel lies in our future. He is spineless and has no ear for music. He also wanted to see the stars, but only wasted breathing gasses- he contributed no skills. Grrrr.
Ralliva Travar: Younger seed sister. Her call is harsh- it curls the ears. She was the tipping point of the conflict between Laaret and myself. We each dug and climbed to gain her aid, gave her gifts, promised bold strikes. She sided with me often, until I left for my first trip to the stars. Since then, she has been Laaret's, almost faithfully.
Granddame Taati: My favorite granddame, my mother's mother. She taught me much of math, and the proper utensils for a formal meal. She often swatted me with my trunk for my transgressions, but I suspect she knew far more of my activities than she ever let on. Almost sixty now, she is ancient.
Yatti Tatti: An older birth sister. She resented the extra chores my youth forced on her, but she was kind. She has a bright silver mark on her left shoulder, a source of exotic pride. She first sang me the lay of the battle of Horriv, the last battle of the clan wars. She is a famous scientist and holo-sculptor, as expected from Roriir's daughter.

Acquaintances & Friends:
Dace Panaca- A solid man, my gateway to the stars. Too bad he doesn't appreciate art (not even fine foods!). His ship is a marvel, in much better shape than my seed father's. Still, there are some improvements to be made...
Ravvi Vattiiar- A Kabazian intelligence officer who tells great stories. Of course, some stories he's over told, like the story of his wrestling match with an Iotran cadet- and winning without using anything other than his trunk.
Diada Waskiro, a Baragwin: I have crossed paths with him(?) often- he has the most amazing junk; often old, useless technology, but occasionally he has a real treat. A total scavenger though- check your pockets before he leaves.
Zar- You meet all kinds in the biz. He's barely cultured, though he tries... I think he was just about to snack on a proffered cube of V'tori popper- until Dace ruined the gift. Still, there's hope for this one.

Familiar Faces:
Varr Riviiar- A Kubazian merchant who keeps me in good supply of various imported bugs
Liam Logan- My human landlord on Corsucant
Dirk Dhassa- A human bureaucrat from Kalarba (also in the Rondeau sector). He always pays too much attention to my snack bags.
