I thought it’d be cool to have an area where each of the potential/ filler/ off-week games can get talked up. This spot’s for Shadowrun, which Kev’s talking about running.
Want to pitch the game? After you hint at what we’d be up to, people can ask about rules, style, characters, and all that. If we jawbone about it in advance, maybe we’ll all be fired up when the day comes to play. Kev, you’re up.

Well, I think just about everyone is at least somewhat familiar with the shadowrun game, if not, its a mid 21st century setting (2056/7 to be specific) where the ‘sixth world’ has come to be, magic, dragons, cybernetics, virtual reality worlds as the curent internet (the matrix, no NOT the movie) with big guns, and even bigger corporations running most of the world. I’ll be printing up a timeline in the near future here, it gives an over view of what major events happend the last 50ish years to set the stage for things. Basic premise is that the players are ‘shadowruners’ , basicly freelance covert ops agents. Most of the jobs are blatently illegal, some may require lots of killing, some may be succesfull only if no one knows you were ever there.
I have all kinds of pent up ideas for a character I want to run in Shadow run when Kev gets ready. I’m not complaining but I have been running D & D since well before Wes left and I want to get back into killing things besides you guys!

I have a suggestion or two– hook us! Do you have a blurb (like the paragraph listing for an evening’s show) for a run? Maybe something about danger, betrayal, cyberware, the matrix, and such?
Second, I suggest building an example character by the numbers, explaining as you go, so that people have an example to follow. [If necessary, I could do one and you could check my math.]
For the rest of us: do you know the archetypes, the type of character you want to play? Anyone calling dibs on a character type? Dad, you mentioned that you had a character type in mind… care to share it, if only for discussion purposes?

Well, I’d really like to have everyone talk some, either here or in person, in regards to what kind of chars you guys/gals want to play. You will know each other, have done some runs together, in pairs or trios’ etc as well as with others, and have weeded out the rather more suicidal/idiotic folks down to the core group of you 5. With this in mind, it is likely that you will have some ablities that compliment each other, you dont nessicarily have to be ‘friends’ with each other, but should at least have some respect for each other.
I’ll be feeding a bit more line to you guys in a couple days or so, might even have a hook and some bait on it, but you have to wait for that 🙂
