Things really got hopping last session; the station conquest came about, along with the successful Rebel invasion. Most of the independant smugglers survived and kiddo successfully toppled his father for control of the local Mafia.
As the session came to a close, a few ships had refueled with the precious Tibanna gas, but most of the fleet was still in line to fuel… as an Imperial response fleet arrived several hours before we’d expected.

Any thoughts on what we can do to make this base an on-going operation rather than a single use one?
As characters: Pester the higher ups and have them commit to a solid fleet presence. Combine that with a solid in-city security presence (like off loading a few squads of marines and coordinating them with the local security forces). It’d be a lot of resources for the fledgling alliance to commit.
As players: Do you want this as a homebase for the PCs, or are you just thinking that it’d be nice for the rebels to have a steady supply of tibanna gas? The first– this in specific as a homebase– is tricky, while the second– rebels securing consistent tibanna gas– will be made by our higher ups given what they know.
