I’ve begun advancing the world history to the game start, but would like your opinions and help. Here’s what I put up last night and this morning: Empire of Iron (our game’s main page), Recent History, for the updates to the situation that I’m sketching out, and Rumors of Iron for other thoughts that are bouncing around in my head. They may not all be true, but they fit the image of the Iron Empire (and a few other things so far) in my mind.
I’d like for each of you to add three facts– either in a comment here, to the rumors page, email, or something else. If there’s a prestige class you like, mention their role in the war. If you care about the names of the gods, assign some gods and names. Go ahead and contribute just about anything– significant events in the resistance, rumors of what’s going on elsewhere in the world, etc. — whatever sounds interesting to you. Try not to change the overall setup: the dwarves as a dark and mighty empire holding the western human and traditional gnomish homelands in shackles. I’m beginning my prep with that as the background…
Everything else is up for grabs. I look forward to your input.
[I’ll try to send a reminder email about passwords, etc. tonight.]

I guess you did not get my email, must not have your current addy. I’m looking at going warrior not rogue now, found a prc in sword and fist, the ‘master of chains’ that looks really nice, want to talk to you about it some when you have a chance, not sure if you have access to sword and fist or not but I have a pdf of it if needed.
Basicly hes a very focused fighter, on using the spiked chain as his only weapon, gets a few extra feat like abliities like extra focus and extra spec with it (+1 hit and +2 dmg extra) as he levels up as class ablities, but one of the big ones that I like, he can use the chain as a reach weapon (normal) or as a double weapon (special class ability)_ switching each round as he likes.
I’m not wanting this to be a trip fighter, but the class does require imp trip and imp disarm, but i’m looking to be an aoo monster: combat reflexes, Exotic wp spike chain, power attack to start. wanting to pick up improved combat reflexes ( 2 attacks as aoo’s ) and a few other, twin weapon fighting and such as I get the master of chains levels, but cant start that prc till at least 6th lvl I think.
It sounds close and well worth looking at; I know some of the classes that had balance issues didn’t get updated. If that doesn’t seem to be the cause, then it sounds good to me.
[I did get your email– and I thought I replied. I’ll look for it while you check your spam filter.]
Well on further research it seems master of chains has been removed, “replaced” (note quotes) with ‘exotic weapon master’ not that big a deal, means I dont have to go with other feats than what I had been thinking of.
So what i’m thinking of now is basicly pure fighter, maight do exotic master at some point not sure, but focusing on 2hand dmg and Aoo’s, reach and close.
Also should note, the imp combat reflexes was incorrect, thats the third step of it, but greater combat reflexes is the one extra attack with aoo, the catch is it DOES take 2 of your Aoo’s to do it. Those are feats from dragon magazine 340, p87
not sure if that will be ok or not.
Yes, the feats in dragon are all available.
One other note: The “alternate class features” for fighters that replace feats? I’m treating them as normal feats with a Fighter level (whatever the substitution level is) prereq. [They’re basically the same thing, but it means if you want to pick them up later (say the 6th level feature at 8th), that’s OK.]
Found something quite neat, a site with complete lists of feats, equipment, races etc…kinda nice layout of stuff easy to find and lots of different groupings.

I printed out the feats listing (200pages!)
and the equipment list.
Happy New Year everyone!
Thanks for the Crystal Keep link Kevin– you’re right, those are handy PDFs.
Bronze elf society is known for their aloofness and lack of social skills. They prefer being alone but, with the threat of the Dwarves and the encroachment of the gnomes into their forest, the Bronze elves built the tree city of Landera as a place of refuge. Most Bronze Elves still prefer soiltude and living in small groups but are aware that their survival may depend on presenting a unified front to their enemies.
