Goodies and games

A cool blog, with a very specific purpose: Landon Darkwood’s Gamehacks is all about tweaking games to fit a group perfectly.

D&D:
Good advice about combat among NPCs.
Draconians: WotC article and ready to use.
The Marshal class. Cool class– very much a battle field commander. An alternative to the Bard in the party buffing role.
For RPGA: A very clear explanation of EV, CoH, and more. Also: recording the level bump in your adventure journal.

RPG tools, useful across games.

Interesting, humorous sounding board game: War on Terror and another interesting sounding Board Game: Dos Rios.

January 12th: Next Game

We got back into our campaign with a bang, executing an insanely optimistic “scry and fry” on a building full of Paladins of Tyranny, after returning to the Dragon Coast and our precocious king who would be a mage.

We’re on for next Friday, unless you’ll have a problem with making it. If you have any problem, just let us know.

Happy 2007

I had a great 2006, and enjoyed the beginning of 2007. While the span from Christmas til yesterday was exhausting, it was great to see everyone, play a few games, and enjoy the presence of family. I’m a really lucky guy, you know?

Happy 2007 to everyone!

Holiday Break

We’re off for the holidays– have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. We’re scheduled to resume the evening of Friday, January 5th.

The Game Log should be updated soon– short form: the Queen is crowned, we were lauded… but Despater left us a note saying “You’ve won a battle, not the war.”

Next Game: Friday December 15th

We’re next scheduled for a Friday night, the same 6:30 start time as normal.

If you’ll have any problems making it, just let us know.

That site I mentioned with the custom character sheets is Ema’s Sheets. Select dynamic sheets, and away you go.

Game Canceled or Delayed

Our next session is scheduled for December 8th. Dad’s off to a Christmas Party tonight (Friday), while Jennifer and I already RSVPed for my office Christmas party Saturday night. So, we’re now looking at fitting the game in sometime else– perhaps Sunday? Let us know what works…

The log is updated– last week was pretty easy because battles take a lot of game time, but sum up quickly.

A couple of weeks off

Kev’s out of town this weekend, while next weekend is Thanksgiving. We’re looking at Friday, December 1st for our next game.

As ever, if you’ll have any problem making it, please let us know. (I’ll also try to get to the log sometime soon.

Next Game: Friday Nov 10th, maybe

We were scheduled to play this upcoming Friday, but Dad may be out of town. Eric’s wife Tonya broke her hand; Dad will help her while she’s recovering from surgery– if she has surgery. Since she’s near Riverside, he won’t make it back in time for Friday’s game if she does need an operation.

I’ll try and keep you posted.

UPDATE: So far, it looks like she’ll be able to dodge surgery, so Dad’s still in town.

Next Game: Friday Nov 3rd

New log entry is up. Let us know if you’ll have any problem making the game.

Also, if you want to scheme between sessions on how we want to deal with our inconvenient would be king, we can knock around ideas in comments.

FOOD NOTE: Dad has offered to make jambalaya for us, since pizza has been disagreeing with him. If that doesn’t sound good (say, for the kids) we can call for pizza as well.
